Boone County is located in Central Iowa, west of Ames and Northwest of Des Moines.
The seat and largest city is Boone. Boone is a very historical county and area. It is named after Captain Nathan Boone.
It is served by the main roads of US-30, US-169, IA-17, IA-144 and IA-210 along with County Road E-41.
It borders Webster, Hamilton, Story, Polk, Dallas and Greene Counties.
